2008 Trek for Trash’s 370 volunteers removed seven tons of litter during our semi annual all city cleanup.  The seven tons collected exceeded our goal this year is to remove at least five tons of litter.

Trek for Trash is a statewide cleanup and beautification effort sponsored by New Mexico Clean and Beautiful.

Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup (GAC), the nation's largest community improvement program, takes place annually from March 1 through May 31, involving an estimated 2.8 million volunteers and attendees.  GAC is one of the City's two major annual city wide cleanups.
Our 2008 Great American Cleanup involved 475 hardworking Las Cruces volunteers who donated 2365 hours to beautify and collect nearly 16 tons of trash and abated several graffiti sites.
Our 2009 goal is to involve over 500 volunteers in the 2009 GAC.  Our big event is Saturday, April 25, 8:00 to noon followed by a community volunteer celebration lunch.
How can you help? We are asking for volunteers of all ages, all groups to lend a helping hand to beautify and clean Las Cruces in the 2009 Great American Cleanup. Register now by calling, faxing, or mailing in the attached form to Keep Las Cruces Beautiful: GAC Invitation

KLCB works with numberous groups, neighborhood associations and community organizations to beautify and cleanup our neighborhoods during the summer. KLCB provides tools, trash pick up, gloves and trash bags for groups. Contact us for more information.
